Isola di Bergeggi: Il Canalone
A vertical wall goes down to 30 meters, just after a flat area where is common to find monkfishes.
All the “Canalone” is rich in Parazoanthus and sponges, and it presents several hideouts for Moray eels and Conger eels.
Watching in the blue high chance to meet Dentexes and Barracudas hunting.

Isola di Bergeggi: La Franata
It’s a vertical wall rich in cracks where Congers, Scorpion Fishes and Lobsters are hiding, surrounded by clouds of Anthias.
Around 30 meters a natural line of rocks set the limit of the dive site, kingdome of Dentexes and Barracudas hunting other species.
Depth: 20/30 meters

Isola di Bergeggi: Il Pifferaio
Is a protected area, the perfect dive site when the sea conditions are not good.
Using as reference an old iron sculpture on the Island, the dive starts from a flat area, 10 meters deep, that ends sloping down to 18 meters.
Common encounters here are Octopuses, Scorpion Fishes, Sea Breams and Amberjacks.

Sassari Shipwreck
This ship was sinked by a torpedo the 1st of December 1917 in front of Borghetto Santo Spirito during World War I.
The wreck is 105 meters long and most of the upper part has been removed. Here you can find Octpuses, Moray and Conger eels, and huge schools of Damselfishes.

Tiflys Shipwreck
It was built in 1939 for battle purposes, 76 meters length, 10 meters width and 1369 DWT.
Sinked the 14th of January 1943 out of Loano by a British boot, is now in very good conditions, with all the upper parts still in place.
Thousands of Damselfishes surround the wreck, and is fascinating staring at the huge propeller, or at the transmission system still viewable on the main deck.

Milford Haven Shipwreck
“The Mediterranean Queen” is one of the biggest shipwreck in all Europe.
334 meters length and 26 meters width, sinked in front of Arenzano the 14th of April 1991, due to a terrible explosion during petroleum transferring operations.
Thanks to its dimensions and position, the Haven can be visited both by recreational and technical divers

Secca dei Tusi
It’s a big shoal, rising from a sandy bottom where is common to find Damselfishes, Dentexes, Octopuses and Moray Eels.
During this dive you’ll find a little scale model of the “Torretta”, the symbol of Savona.

Secca del Corallo Nero
At 40 meters we find two little shoals litteraly covered by Fan Corals (Paramuricea clavata), famous for being intensly red coloured.
Together with several species of sponges, you’ll find a huge “Black Coral” (Gerardia savaglia) colony, with its tipycal yellow colour.
During spring time, is common to meet San Pietro fishes and schools of Mola Mola.

Secca dei Rigozzi
This is a semi-drift dive, starting at 33 meters deep, in an area full of red and yellow Fan Corals, following the ascending bottom up to 26 meters. At the end of the summer is not hard to encounter little Tunas and Barracudas.
The shallower part is perfect for macro-photography lovers, rich in Bryozoas, Nudibranches and Reteporas, but also various species of shrimps and crabs.

Secca del Magazzino – East side
Fifty meters from the East side we find another group of rocks with the same scenario: there is plenty of all the typical Mediterranean groundfish species and in spring and early summer is common to encounter schools of Mola Mola.
There is also a huge quantity of nudibranch, mostly Discodoris (Sea-cows) and Flabellinas.

Secca del Magazzino – West side
Right in front of the artificial Vado Ligure dam, this dive site is a wide area with huge rocks lying on the sandy bottom.
This rocks are incredibly coloured, since they are covered by sponges and Axinellae, surrounded by hundreds of Damsel Fishes.
Here you can find the typical Pinna Nobilis and a great colony of Eels and Groupers.

Secca del Garage
This shoal is the perfect place for Underwater Photographers. This group of rocks presents most of the typical groudfish species of this area and a high quantity of little subjects for macro-photography.
During the summer, a deep vertical crack is the perfect hideout for big Groupers.

Punta Prodani
This dive site slopes down from the surface to 20 meters of depth. Hidden in the cracks of the rocks you can find an incredible amount of shrimps, other crustacean, Cowries and Octopuses.

Secca del Faro
This shallow dive is open to all the divers. It presents four rocks forming a sort of square.
You can appreciate the typical Mediterranean underwater environment, swimming trough schools of Sea Breams, Saddled Breams and Sole Fishes swimming away at your passage.

Barriere artificiali
These artificial barriers have bee set not far away from Spotorno beaches, on a sandy bottom.
Here you can find Axinellaes and Anemones, hosting several species of little shrimps and crabs.

Secca dei Marassi
This is a huge semi-circular shoal that can be found not far from “Secca delle Stelle”.
The flat top is rich in sponges and Hydrozoas. The vertical walls fall down creating two nice caverns at the bottom, where can be found Lobsters and Homarus Lobsters.

Secca delle Stelle
This dive site is reccomended both to beginners and advanced divers. His main characteristic is a pyramid shaped rock covered with Parazoanthus.
There is also an high concentration of Sea Stars (hence the name of the site), sponges and Bryozoas.

Secca dei Gemelli
The dive begins at the top of the main rock, at 36 meters, and goes on descending along its walls down to 42 meters. Here a little cavern hosts several lobsters.
Few meters far away there is a second rock, following wich Octopuses and Eels can be found, reaching 46 meters of depth.

Secca dei Ramoni
On this deep and demanding dive site, a high rock is covered by an incredible colony of Fan Corals (Paramuricea clavata) particuarly big and wide.
Aside of the rock, still lies a big ancient anchor. In the cracks and caverns is common to find big Lobsters and Homarus Lobsters, and there is a lot of passage of Sea Breams, Dentexes and Gilthead Breams.

Secca delle Gialle – Min 48 Max 61
The name of the dive site come from the colour of the Fan Corals that populate the area. On a sandy bottom of 61 meters, there are two rocks so close to each other that they create a sort of canyon where Lobsters and Spider Crabs use to hide.
The peculiarity of this site is the colour of the Fan Corals: they could be red or yellow, but there are also uncommon examples red at the base and yellow at the top of the branches.

Secca di Bibiz-Biboz
This average size shoal is broken in two separate rocks. The first one is covered by Fan Corals hosting Dogfishes eggs and surrounded by clouds of Damse Fishes.
The second rock is famous for presenting a lot of cracks, caverns and hideouts.

Secca del Banano – Min 40 Max 59
The name of this dive site comes frome the “banana” shape of this shoal. The top is 40 meters deep and the bottom 59. The dive will be conducted as an ascending spiral twisting around the “Banano”. A lot of cracks will be full of Eels and Lobsters, while coloured sponges covering all the vertical walls.

Secca della Travacca – Min 50 Max 68
Not far from Bergeggi Island, the characteristic of this dive site is a spectacular meadow of red Fan Corals (Paramuricea Clavata). This garden is the perfect habitat for Eels, Scorpion Fishes, Anthias and can be found Dogfish eggs on the Fan Coral branches. The dive site is pretty wide, so it’s suggested to explore it in drift.

Secca delle Spugne – Min 40 Max 46
The name of this site comes from the incredible amount of huge sponges covering this 5 rocks, not far from each other. It’s the perfect place to dive with a camera, taking pictures of Eels, Big lobster and clouds of coloured Anthias.

Secca dei Maledetti – Min 54 Max 80
Located half nautical mile from Spotorno, this dive site presents a wall falling from 54 to 130 meters of depth. Reserved for Experienced Trimix Divers, here you can find the best of Mediterranean Sea, including the rare Red Coral, a huge colony of shrimps, Fan Corals, lobsters and Dogfishes.
